Good evening ladies!
Thanks for posting for me WS - think my brother was pretty taken with your piccie by all accounts (that's what my mum told me!).
Baby Emilia is now home with me, we got home just after 4pm this afternoon. She is gorgeous and beautfil, and doesn't resemble a clown as my brother described (although she does have rather large hands).....cont...

Soooo.... basically, my waters broke 3am Sat morning (just remember I posted that here didn't I? I will go and check that again in a min), we were told to get to delivery suite between 5 and 6 which we did. They decided to induce me that afternoon because I still wasn't contracting regularly and so started me off at 6pm that evening. Labour then began within half an hour, and I was pushing by 11 - all seemed to be going well but she managed to get her head stuck and after copious amounts of drugs (epidurual didn't work because of the position she was in), they said they'd have to use forceps, which I was ok with, however by 9am they still couldn't get her to budge and i was exhausted, they also thought she was much larger than she is and said c-section would be best. The doctor then decided that I ought to go down to theatre and prepped me for a c-section, although said when in there he would try twice more to get her out with forceps. I was utterly convinced by this point, as was the midwife, that c-sec was inevitable however Emilia popped out on the second attempt with forceps. She was purple and not breathing and it was very frightening, but after a couple of blasts of oxygen she was screaming, and, I'm happy to say, hasn't stopped since. Anyway, because of the complications during labour I wasn't able to wee, basically because I couldn't feel anything down there, and so was only allowed home today. Emilia is doing fantastically, she doesn't stop eating and she has the biggest mop of dark hair ever, she's beautiful and I can't believe she has only been here a couple of days. Anyway, I am off now to play mummy.... thank you all for your posts and for everyone who has answered any of my pregnancy (or other) questions in the past nine months, the support on here has really helped me out and made me laugh lots. XXX.
P.S. I will post some pics soon x

awwww huge congratulations Natalie and family!
I cant imagine how scary thatmustve been for you having to try and push for all that time hun. Am so glad that things managed to free themselves without the need for a section but what a wait eh.
Emilia is a lovely name. I still would like Amelia, but reckon that this awkward wotsit of mine is more likely a William.
Huge hugs (gentle of course) to you hun, cant wait to see pics and hear more xx
