So long as all went well and it was a natural birth with basic pain relief (no epidural) they usually only keep you in for 6 hours. When I had Holly, I was classed as being a 6 hour release but because she was born at night, I did stay til late the next morning.
I personally preferred getting home so quick.

Congratulations redcrx, glad you and baby are doing well. beautiful name too (it was on my list). No pain relief eh? Well done you, cant begin to imagine that when delivering a 9lb 6oz baby, I just think of mine at 6lb 12oz with no drugs and am trying to multiply the pain up in my head, I dont even want to go there! And no stitches either, you couldnt have asked for a better and shorter birth.
Well done you!
