braxton hicks?

hello everyone, im nearly 37 weeks pregnant with my second baby, and i keep getting uncomfortable, but regular b h. My first son was born at 34 wks, and came so quickly that I didnt have time to think, let alone ponder whether the pain was the start of labour of not!
this is the third night now this week, that iv been quite uncomfortable, and will be going to bed thinking.. 'well ill either wake in night in full labour, or will wake in morning as usual'.
Is it common for second pregnancys to have lots of bh a month or so before due date, or do you think it could actually be starting to happen...!?!

I'm a grandmother to 6, and I'd never heard of this name until my one daughter was having her 4th baby four years ago. She had these contractions for quite a few weeks but this baby was eventually overdue by about 10 days so, I would say, be ready but don't panic. As I understand it, they're just practice contractions, and unless they become very strong and troublesome, carry on as normal, but perhaps don't go too far from home! Your midwife could advise you better than I can.

As you've had one baby early and quite quickly, it may be that this one will be similar to the first. I'll be thinking of you!

As previously said, it's not necessarily the start of 'things happening'.

i had BH's a whole month before my 2nd child and eventually she had to be induced some 2 weeks later.

And it also doesn't mean that as your first baby was early that your 2nd one will be. My first cihld was a week early.

Good luck though, let us know when things have happened, we like to know about ABers babies (oh ok, we go all gooey)
