it's (another) Girl!!!
Thanks everyone for yor advice and support esp Red for the contraction timer!
I went to the hospital at 9 on tuesday night, 13 hours after my 1st contraction and was pleased to be told I was already 4cm, contractions were between 3-4mins apart so was taken away for an epidural (which was amazing when it worked, but needed lots of top ups!)
I got to 6cm by 1.30am wednesday, and had my waters broken to speed things along, then by 7.30 was at 10cm and told to push which i apparently did for 2hrs but i cant rememeber much and have been told I talked all kinds of nonsense whilst v.high on gas and air!!
At about 10am Wednesday I had a consent form thrust infront of me and was told I was probably going to have a caesarean, but after a lot more drugs I gave birth to an amazing baby girl via forceps at 10.32 she gave everyone a bit of a scare as she was completely purple and had the cord wrapped around her neck, arms and ankle as well as meconium in the water.
we're both came home at 1pm today and are all healthy now if a little sore and shocked!!
she weighs 7lbs 10 and we're thinking about calling her Nancy Scarlett, she's got lots of fair hair and dark blue eyes. I cant stop watching her but I'm gonna try having a sleep now - something I havent done since monday night!!

Have you decided on the name or are you still considering Nancy? Its such a hard decision isnt it, to name your child with something that is going to last forever. I still think its great though
Cant wait to see the pics hun. Am toying with the idea of setting up a mummys group on msn for AB mummys to share pics and stories, but for now will see you on FB.
take care xx

**bit gory sorry!**
I ended up back in hospital last night, on the gas and air again as I was in so much pain where I'd had stitches. I was really worried it was an infection as i felt really ill, really quickly! apparently one of the stitches is a bit too tight but not worth doing anything about as I'm starting to heal and I also have a blood clot which 'they' don't wanna do anything about?! well they took a bit out. Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing? I'm on some very strong pain killers, anti-biotics and anti-inflamatories so I feel really drowsy. I feel pretty miserable about it as I cant really move around and my poor fella has to do everything for Nancy and me, he's so amazing tho but I just feel useless and helpless.

Ohh sorry to hear that you're having a rough time. You poor thing, I know you won't be thinking it, but you will feel better soon, your body recovered quickly.
Don't worry about the clots, I had 2 sections and had very heavy clotting, they expect them to come away naturally (which they did ) but can take weeks! So it's quite normal chick!
I've added you as a friend (same name plus my surname).
Look after yourself chick! x x

Hi K8! I have put in a request to add you too. I had a problem with a blood clot and infection under my stitches. I had a lot of stitches (my son ripped me from front to back!) and they split open. Took a while to heal but it is fine now. It is hard when you feel like you are useless, I couldn't even pull my trousers up! But please just take it easy x
