yes. they have extra sensory pregnant-pickerupper radar.
My dog is a mans dog, he very raraly comes to me or my children, but when I was pregnant on both my children, he would be following me like my shadow.

Before I went into labour my midwife came to see me and the dog kept putting himself inbetween us. The midwife said that he must know something is going to happen, but didn't think anything of it as I was only 36 weeks ...... low and behold I went into labour that very day!

I believe they can pick up on the changes in hormone levels! I think it's sweet x

Totally spooky !!!!
my cats knew. Everytime they sat on my bump they got booted up the @rse by my bump
My cat did, he kept being very affectionate. He knew when I was in labour as well he wouldn't come anywhere near me for hours (and no I wasn't being loud), very weird.
my 2 cats were the complete opposite, they didn't act any differently towards me whilst I was pregnant, but when I was in labour one of my cats who's normally a bit shy and ignores me esp if I'm moving about a lot or being loud (which believe me I was) but that day he stayed with me all day and even wanted a cuddle while I was having a contraction - bad timing but really sweet!

He's continued to spend lots of time with me now that the babys here! shame I can't get the other cat to come anywhere near me now he used to be like my shadow but now I hardly see him!
there is no doubt that your pet will sense a different odour from you as your hormonies kick in. Add to that the change in atmosphere and behaviour, and any animal will know something is different - and react according to how they fel about it - protective, threatened, confused, what ever.
I totally believe dogs do, I was in a very violent relationship last year when I found out I was pregnant and my bitch had been acting very strangely around me for a good few weeks before I actually found out. She would sit inbetween me and my ex and growl at him something she had never done before even though she saw him being violent to me. She would sleep in bed between us and one day he went to hit me and she flew at him going nuts. I purely believe this is totally down to the fact she knew I was pregnant and was protecting me as I was more vulnerable. Do a test in a few weeks you might be pleasantly suprised good luck x x
