Cover On Central Heating Boiler
I renewed my central heating boiler last year .
It comes with a ten year warranty provided it's service each year.
I have British gas home care cover .
Would it be better to cancel the boiler part of the cover and have the boiler serviced by someone else Or add the boiler unto the home care cover ?

It is a Vaillant and I use a local firm who specialise in Vaillant boilers and who are very good; I don't have an annual service, bnut use them when necessary. I really dislike BG, mainly because of the size of their bills. I am now on Octopus, who are excellent.
Like you I had my boiler changed last year and it comes with the same warranty conditions. I had it installed by a corgi registered gas engineer and he came to do the service last week which cost £90. I have used the same Corgi registered engineer for several years as British Gas got too expensive and unreliable. You can search online for " corgi registered gas engineers near me". Hope this helps.
I don't know about it being "better", but I'd suspect there may be a better chance that they turn up for the service on the agreed date, and not try to excuse themselves by claiming there are too many breakdowns at present. Mind you, the bar is set at 0 chance by Homecare, so it's a very low bar to exceed.
The British gas home care cover includes cover for boiler / radiators / plumbing / drainage / electrics
what i'm asking is opinions as to what I should do . Get rid of the boiler cover of the package - ( the package cover is up for renewal ) and get the boiler serviced elsewhere or keep the boiler part of the package and put the new boiler on it ?
I think I'd let the BG home cover lapse. Then comply with the boiler manufacturers requirements to maintain the boiler warranty period by using an approved Gas Safe Engineer to service it. How often do radiators or other parts of a central heating system go wrong? If something does, then the Gas Safe Engineer could fix it, possibly at a more favourable price, because he was servicing the boiler. Then review the situation when the boiler warranty expires.
