Hi
I have just found out that I am pregnant and conceived about 1-2 weeks ago.
I have been feeling the period like pains and feeling uncomfortable but also feeling sharp like pains all around my belly.
I was just wondering if this is normal as I am worried that this isn't ment to happen.
Thanks.

if you conceived 1-2 weeks ago, surely you would only just be due a period.. that's a very early test you have done!!

if you are pregnant, you get all sorts of aches and pains and will have to learn to not panic.. unless it's a lasting sharp pain and then you should call your doctor.

My period was due around the 9th of this month and I took a test yesterday because I was a week late and that is what it said.
if your period was due on the 9th Jan, officially you would be 5 weeks pregnant, and would have conceived around 3 weeks ago.

I suggest you get yourself a good pregnancy book, and congratulations :o)

So the test wasn't very accurate then. I used the clearblue digital test. Thanks sara
biology says you are most unlikely to fall pregnant the day your period is due, and most likely at your time of ovulation, which is mid-cycle.

anyway hey, you're pregnant.. it's a weird and wonderful time :o)

seriously.. if you feel very unwell (throwing up doesn't count!) or are in a lot of pain, you need to get it checked out x
Congratulations! Mild aches and pains are normal and is just the womb stretching and preparing for the baby. If you are experiencing more than mild pains I would get checked out just to be on the safe side.
There is a pregnancy calculator and loads more on the website www.babycentre.co.uk. You can find out your due date and chat to people who are the same as you.
Congratulations! I have also just found out that I am 6 weeks pregnant after 3 years of trying!!!
Good luck and enjoy it.x
somethimes women get implantation painds where the embryo is attaching to the lining of the womb like a stich pain im told
Congratulations Natalie and Hayley.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and I had the pains you described early on in the pregnancy. When I explained to the hospital, they said these pains as well as lower back pain were quite usual.
P.S the Clearblue tests can only give you average dating.

Pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last period, so count from then to work out how many weeks you are. This maybe a bot diferent, if your cycle is not 28 days.
