How many weeks pregnant

Hi guys, The date of my last period was 24th Dec so from that date til today is 6 weeks. Some sites say today would be the 7th week of pregnancy but baby has only been developing for 5 weeks then other sites say im only 5 weeks and baby has only been developing for 3 weeks. Im not planning on telling people until im 12 weeks so want to know when that time should be. Slighlt confused as all my symptoms point to 7 weeks. Thanks, Ettelloc

if the first day of your period was 24th dec then you are 5+6, that is 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant.
therefore you are in your 6th week, week 0 being your first.

these are the dates that your midwife will work to unless your dating scan says otherwise.
