I'm 5 weeks pregnant today (and very excited). Me and my partner decided to start trying for our first baby in October and were fortunate enough to succeed first time. We had been expecting to have to try for about a year! I was just wondering how normal it is that I'm so bloated that I am struggling to fit into my normal work trousers already? My friends at work didn't need to change into maternity wear until 6 months in - I feel like a freak! Also twins run in my family and I wondered if this was a sign that I was carrying more than one baby too? Both of my nans were twins and my boyfriends nan was a twin too. And you know what they say about it skipping a generation!

Good, I am glad I was not alone in this Red.
Ok...I misread her. I was thinking that was the date she missed her last period.

I didn't even know I was pregnant at five weeks...
The other point girls, is.............was her last period a normal period?

If not, then she could be 10weeks pregnant.

Last period was a full period and completely normal from what I remember, and as we weren't actually trying at that point it would be not a complete miracle exactly but less likely. I've got a doctors appointment on Monday but not sure what they will do! Guess they will send me to the hospital for bloods? Really haven't got a clue!!

Thanks for your responses everyone, much appreciated! ;o)
VW...they won't do anything. They will ask you if you've taken a home positive test and they will take that as gospel. They might take your blood pressure...ask when your last period was and give you a date to see your midwife.
