Have car seats and boosters in their cars for all children up to 12.? I was shocked when I found out children up to 12 or a certain hight had to seat in a "baby" seat as my granddaughter said,!
i think usually they are above the height before they get to that age. I understand it must seem a bit babyish for them, but its for safety afterall!! My daughter is 6 and uses booster seat at moment- suppose is bit weird to think of her still in it for another 6 years!!
My kids stayed in booster seats until they were tall enough - they are very tall for their age though so were out of them at about 7. I think it only becomes an issue when you have a shorter older child who feels they are too grown up but aren't yet tall enough - I have only recently got rid of all the booster seats even though the boys haven't used them for nearly 3 years because a lot of their friends are smaller and therefore I had them handy if I was talking them out with us. I think they are all pretty much over the limit now but their parents can supply one if required.
There are still adults that claim that they don't need to wear seatbelts, it only takes one accident to realise why they are important. Sadly though, many don't get the chance to start wearing them again.
Babyish or not the booster cushions are law for a reason!
