I'm at the end of my tether!!
29 Answers
6 Days back at school and my daughter has already lost a pair of football socks. I am so angry. These aren't cheap, have to buy them at a "Special Shop"! £8.00!!
I have told her so many times the importance of making sure she doesn't lose anything as these things cost so much money. I am struggling as it is financially. I'm afraid I lost it with her this morning:0(
I know it's just a pair of socks but it's the money and now the time and cost to go 15 miles to get them.
What am I to do?

(don't feel guilty for having a go - it's what parents do and if she doesn't understand you are struggling at that age, then she deserves to be shouted at!). nobody's perfect...but let her sort the mess out and make it clear if she loses anything else, she'll be going half dressed before you dip in your pockets again. oh - and if you are struggling, lose the riding lessons. £80 a month is not to be sniffed at x
From what I remember socks are permanently being stolen accidentally or on purpose. My son would come home with other people's socks in his bag on many occasions (not on purpose) Kids in changing rooms trying to hurry to get ready for the next lesson!!!
I used to religiously take them back to the school so they got reunited with the right owner, but I noticed when my son's went missing they never came back. Not all parents check labels and make sure what is in their kids sports kit.
Don't be too hard on her.
Most schools have ample supplies of spare socks, built up over the years. Just let her continue borrowing.

I see what your saying about the riding lessons but she does not have pocket money, I do not buy here sweets and this is her only hobby. She isn't into fashion so I rarely buy her clothes, in fact I have to drag her to the shops to buy something, normally an item of clothing that she has grown out of!
