Arty Things For Babies...

Has anyone got any ideas about art activities I can do with babies (5-13 months). I need to do a display at work and it's just dawned on me that their abilities aren't up to much. I was thinking about just getting them to finger paint or do hand prints and cut them into shapes so that I can fit them into a Spring display.

Any ideas would be great :) xx

I'm sure we get Nursery World but i've only ever seen one copy since I started in January. I should really see about subscribing to it myself actually.. :)

Excellent gloop obtained by mixing water and cornflour. Great for littlies to play with. Non-toxic. Can be puddled , drawn out into stiff string, dropped to form a liquid again.

I think it only comes once a month so its possible there has only been only 2 copies so far this year

Just looked into a Nursery World subscription... £99 a year :O £84 if I set up a direct debit.. I may just leave it a few months lol!

Erin - they might get the nursery newspaper thing at your library or you could drop a hint at your workplace?

Look forward to hearing about it and hope there's pic of the display obviously you can't put pics of the kids but can imagine their faces doing the arty stuff and yours doing the cleaning up lol x

Could make a tree out of handprints cut out...

Or when u scrunch up little bits of tissue paper into balls and the kids glue em in place on a big pre drawn shape or somethin? I remember making a big santa like that at school!! Or draw round the kids and let them decorate hehe xx

I would just give them paint, brush and paper and let them go wild; you can cut out the painting so there's not lots of white bits then back it on bright paper. They will look lovely once they're all up and it will be the babies own work.
