I'm the type of person whon always sends cards to people, even if I don't get one back - it's just the way I am. But what do you do if somebody has been really vile, and you know its their birthday very soon. Would you rise above it and send a card anyway, or would you deliberatley not send one this time?

Even if it was your own child?
Maybe a sarky card with no stamp on.....would make me feel happier than no card at all! I make and send lots of cards so like you Smow I always send even if I don't receive so know what you mean.
It depends on whether you want reconciliation in the future. If you do, then I'd rise above it and send the card
If it's a temporary blip that will get sorted - I'd send a card
If it's serious then I wouldn't bother
If I was my brother I'd send a really mean hurtful card
You typed that before I posted....now with it being your own child... I would put the stamp on that one...
Well i was in similar situ a while ago im sure i asked here...

Remember? Babys 1st birthday. Babys mum had been vile to me. I sent card with £10 in as that was all i could afford with not working. Didnt even get a thank you. No text, nothing.

Other mate who has been siding with bitch pal...was her babys birthday on wed. For the past 12yrs we have exchanged gifts for birthdays u till this year she didnt even get me a card (but got a "new" mate she barley knows a gift!!!!!) i was gutted. Her babys birthday this week. I have sent an empty card. For her birthday though she can kiss my @rse.

Infact she txt to say thanks and i didnt bother texting back. Seeing everyone gathered to celebrate but not me when i havent done anythinh is hurtfull. Had to actually get her new adress from a mate :0/ xx
No...even if it was my own child.

I'm a stubborn bitch!!
Heres me ranting and not answering. Not sure smow. Im leaning towards NO in your case. Or if you do send one it will be empty!!! And shortly written. X
I'd send a card, the fall out of not doing so could go on and on.

Just don't go over the top with the hearts and flowers language - and don't bung £20 in either!

Hmmm, I always put money in as well, quite a bit. Not sure what to do - said 'child' was positively appalling in their comments and behaviour.
I wouldn't send one, but then I have no kids so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. I wouldn't send one to a sibling or maybe even a parent if they'd hurt and annoyed me.

As Eccles says, not sendin one could make situation worse,,but when I know for a fact that I haven't done a thing wrong........

Maybe I could find a card which says " Happy Birthday you ungrateful little sh1t"
You could probably get one of them on the Internet card sites - would be funny if they let you put that on a card.
They'd probably make a fortune with such a card Smo !!
I'd send an empty card, and simply signed 'from mum'
Send a card from moonpig you havent written then you wont put moneu in!!!!!!
