Probably not open a heavy door but I could put my slip on shoes with buckles and a dress on at 3 years old... admittedly not on the right feet and the dress the wrong way round, and not quite suitable for winter but you know, I was clothed! (It's a good photo of my first attempt at dressing myself).

My 3 year old granddaughter could and has done so. we have to keep a chain on the door now when she stays here to be safe.

This is not an ordinary door it is on a security lock...a mechanism has to be pushed then heavy plate door opened....most new blocks in Edinburgh have these now...no way a little kid could do this..my guess estranged father has come along with keys and taken him....probably overseas by now !

The father has not been mentioned. I thought he was deliberately not mentioned for this very reason.

Yes....he lives in fife normally....there is also another estranged husband I believe...not biological father....given his Asian background I guess he'll be in India/ Pakistan by now...

All reports with mention of the have been removed now, but early i read that they were yet to speak "to the father who is of Pakistani origin".

Yes it is....local news has given detailed reports on family status...biological estranged father another estranged husband ....all points towards cultural spat ...young boy child etc....no way he could have left flat unassisted....

I doubt he's left the country as he would need his passport and would be on a flight manifest, which one would hope the Police have already checked by now.
News reports claim they are speaking to his father so one would assume that he hasn't left the country either.
Unless of course his father has removed him from the family home and has him housed elsewhere with other relatives/friends........
But I wouldn't want to add to what is nothing more than specualtion and supposition at this moment in time.

Asian families in Edinburgh are bountiful and quite clanish if you know what I mean....there are ways of arranging things given family cultural networking...only my guess.....
