My mother passed away this morning and I need to inform the DWP the only numbers I can find are either 0845 or 0800 which both cost me 25p per minute on my tariff. Anyone got the 0300 number?

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing.

I did find this on line -

http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/latest-news/1228-full-list-of-free-to-mobile-dwp-0800-numbers

Apparently mobile networks won't charge for 0800 numbers to certain departments. I think the one you need is 08006783682, but you may want to check the full list.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Catsrcool. I've got the bereavement register package in front of me, the only other number on it is the help line 07132467940
Sorry, I think that if for registering the death not the DWP.
When my mother died I found that when I went to register the death the details were passed onto the DWP and they subsequently wrote to me with details of overpayment etc.
