Can You Have Grandparents - In -Law
7 Answers
I have several grandchildren. My wife & I divorced and she remarried
but has no new children.
She has told our grandchildren to call her new husband Granddad
which I admit I am not comfortable with.
She insists that her husband is now an In Law Grandfather.
Is there such a thing & is she correct?

Personally, I don't think any child can have too many grandparents . If your wife has a new husband, it would be appropriate for the children to refer to him as Granddad, because he is married to their Grandmother. If I were her, I would drop the 'In Law' bit - who needs such labels!

As per bedknobs, Step-grandfather (for official purposes)
optionally, "grandad #3"
In-laws I would always interpret to mean relations gained via your spouse.
All of this only remotely matter if you want to talk to people who don't know the inner workings of your family without having them misinterpret who is descended from whom.
