Anybody Have Advice For Homelessness/council?
30 Answers
One of my sons has been staying with a friends family but they've fallen out big time and he's been thrown out. He's literally in town with all his possessions in a bag. He has no money and no vehicle and no job. He also suffers from depression. Yes he could come here but I live hours away and he has two little children where he is and wants to be near them. If he walks to the council offices what will they do?? Will they just turn him away?ive looked on their website but there are so many factors to consider and he doesn't want to say the wrong thing.

There are often local charities which can help out. Which town is it?
Also, just in case he decides that he does want to stay with you for a while, I'll mention that you can't buy his rail ticket online, and then get him to collect it at his end, as he'd need to have your payment card with him. However you can go to your local rail station, explain the situation, pay for his ticket there and have it issued at his local station.

Ok update guys. On way to council offices he saw someone he hadn't seen for about a year. They said he could sleep on their sofa for tonight only so he carried on, got to council, explained the whole situation including his depression and anxiety. They called his doctor whilst he was there, gave him a lot of forms to fill in etc. He is to go back tomorrow morning and they will find him somewhere for tomorrow night - probably a hostel - and them make sure he has a bed somewhere every night till something more permanent comes up. Thankyou for every suggestion and reply xx
