Work/ Retirement/ Life Balance ..

I'm sure there's quite some variation on here. Do you work, are you retired, have you got your life in balance. I'm interested, people log on at different times of the day/ night. How do your days pan out?

I usually get on here around 5am (and the other crossword site) and I'll look in now and again until around 4. I found retirement difficult at first so became a Parish Councillor for 4 years which kept me busy. I now look after a 91 year old neighbour who is bed/chair bound, has no family, and has carers 4 times a day. I do his shopping, and sort out his admin etc. This takes a fair amount of my time and I enjoy it.
I've had a trip to the cemetery, way too hot out there at the moment.
Kathyan, so your arthritis stops you sewing yourself now? I'd thought of selling on eBay, the only thing that stops me is posting stuff off to people, most of the time I'm doing something/ going somewhere. Its great you're making something out of it!

Since retiring my life has settled into a routine which I am happy with but which is easily changed if need be. My only real commitment is my two afternoons in school. I don't like to miss them.
I do try to stay off AB as long as possible. Just a bit of time there/here in the morning whilst waking up, maybe at lunchtime with my cup of tea and then four o'clockish in the afternoon.
I would consider spending the day in front of my laptop as a day wasted but that's just me. I know that some people love their time here.

I don't sew as much as I'd like to. The arthritis affects my ability but I also have a hand tremor which makes it more difficult these days. I still do a little bit on my good days though. My husband does all the posting for ebay. There is a thing now called drop and go where you just drop all your parcels off with a prepaid card and they do all the weighing and stamping and then you collect your card and the receipts the next day. Saves time waiting around at the Post Office.
