It does depend on the gap, but more importatnly on the individuals involved.

This is a cultural aspect of life - Western society takes a hands-aloft-in-horror attitude to significant age gaps between couples, even if the couple are perfectly happy with each other. I would guess that there are many many couples with an age gap who ahve been perfectly happy, and those that have not could have split for a variety of differences - age not being one of them.

I am a believer in live-and-let-live - having seen friends of my in-laws whose eldest daugher married a mand four years older than her father. Her fatuer was outraged, and boycotted the wedding, a decision he bitterly regrets because his daughter and husband are blissfully happy together after more than fifteen years of marriage.

A little over 22 years. I think the interests and attitudes of the partners are the most important thing. While we both like things the other doesn't, there is a large area of cross-over in music, films, tv and literature. We have our differences, of course, as any couple does, but age never seems to be an issue.

Against my parents wishes, my sister married a man 18 years older than her. She was 18 & he was 36.

They went on to have four children & have just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary!

Although I & some other members of my family can't stand the bloke (only 'cos we know things about him that my sister doesn't), she & her kids love him - so that's all that matters!
