I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with our first child - a daughter.

She has been a really busy baby throughout!

If I count each time I feel a poke, I think I feel her 30+ times an hour.

It’s like she’s shinmying!

Anyone got any opinions or facts about whether this means she will be an Olympic gymnast, etc?

Also, what is she doing? Why so much movement? Any purpose to it?

I feel like I’m growing a fully trained gymnast!
Well my daughter was like this. She was always in the breech position when I was examined (and also when giving birth--ouch), so I'm not sure if this is connected to the excess movements.
Now she is grown she is still physically active and sporty.
Good luck! My 2nd child (and 2nd daughter) was incredibly active - booted me in the bladder regularly and bashed me about so much that I ended up in hospital at 8 months with the 'most irritable womb I have ever seen' according to the specialist. Seriously - I had bunches of students around my bed all enjoying touching my tummy and watching it go into a contraction! Well, everyone has to learn.

She competed in heptathlon at national level some 17 years later and held County and Northern titles.
Enroll her at the nearest Sportshall Athletics as soon as she is old enough - and, I repeat, good luck! :) x
My 3 pregnancies were all very similar (1 girl, 2 boys) and pretty active (I know they were active as I had to fill out a kick chart with my 1st) they are all grown now and as lazy as each other. Work, eat & sleep :-)
It’s all an olds wives tales I’m afraid as you just cannot tell whether your child is going to be a president or a pauper based on how they kick unless they’re out of the womb and can kick a ball in a goal pretty well in which case you can predict they’re going to be good at football, lol
