So I just met my possible dog, and she was a sweetheart! But my dad won't let me get her because apparently I wake up too late. But I've been taking care or my baby brother since he was born, he doesn't even sleep with them or listen to them, so basically I'm getting into trouble when I have homework and he isn't showered or put to sleep. How do I persuade him that I want to dog when he thinks I'm not "responsible" enough? I even get better grades than my brothers!

Just accept it, Get a dog when you've moved out.
There's no mention of your mum here, is she still around?
Why is it your job to shower your brother and put him to sleep?

Dogs take up a lot of time and energy, and it sounds as if there’s enough to be worrying about in your house.
While you live at home and are financially supported by your parents, its their decision.
I’m not sure I understand why your brother is your responsibility but caring for and training a dog can also be a lot of work. Whilst you are living with your parents you have to accept their decisions reguarding who or what lives in their house. I know you will be disappointed but there will be plenty of time to get your own dog once you have your own place and earn your own money to take care of it.
I know of young children who are held accpountable for the care of their younger siblings while mum and dad sleep off the excesses of last night/early morning. Perhaps your dad believes that if you have a dog to look after, then you'll neglect your baby brother. Then, God forbid, they'll have to be proper parents.

Forgot to add, that is, of course, if what you say is taken at face value to be a proper account of the situation.
It is fine to get a dog providing you have no intention of ever leaving home because then your family will have to care for it and probably deal with the end of life bit too...I suggest that you volunteer at a rescue centre for the time being, get used to caring for a dog...walking, grooming, picking up poo, cleaning up vomit, feeding etc etc and then you will be a very good carer for your own animal....if you plan on college you won't be able to take it with you and some residences don't allow you to have pets even when you are working.
oh and they cost a fair amount of money too.....!
