i am not think but i have a very hard time understanding the amounts the govt pay into my account. I put the exact same amount in every month (946.40) yet the put in varying amounts
Last month they put in £236.60, the month before 92.34, the month before 207.37. Once i did a payment of £1 just to see and they put in 52.09!
Anyway, does anyone know when the periods run to and from or is it dependent on when you opened it? anyone else have these problems?

There's a 3-month cycle. During that cycle you get £1 from the Government for every £4 you pay in yourself. (i.e. their contribution is a quarter of your own one). £946.40 divided by 4 = £236.60, so that's one contribution explained and it's almost certainly the first month of a cycle. However there's a cap of £500 per 3-month cycle on what the Government...

Its not her fault the Law allows it, she takes advantage,in more ways than one. Makes my blood boil to be honest when there are children out there who go to school without breakfast because their WORKING parents are struggling yet someone who can afford to save nearly £1000 a month gets payouts...sigh.......
I think there is a lot of misunderstanding in how this scheme works.

In the 1950s I went to a State run nursery (hence free) for a while as my Mother went back to work in the Mill.
I doubt there are many if any such nurseries now.

Bednobs you are still getting 'free' money from the Government though on top of your child benefit. And your nursery fees are Tax Deductible. Working people with no children or children no longer at home have to contribute to your freebies. I personally would prefer my money to go to provide free child places for lower income families so they can get off Benefits and back into work. Its not a criticism of you, more of the system.
just to get it clear Andres, the govt pays the tax on the amount i pay the nursery (up to £500 per quarter) So i put 940 of taxed money in the account that pays the nursery and the government refund the tax i paid on that money . You can't spend the money on anything else but childcare. It used to be given in childcare vouchers (salary sacrifice) but the voucher scheme was closed to new entrants last year, because it was being replaced by this
Maybe if Bednobs didn’t get this ‘free’ money she couldn’t go to work and would then, herself, end up on benefits. The government doesn’t just chuck money at people for no good reason. Bednobs is eligible for this scheme and is just asking a question about her payments, not the ethics of if it should be available or not.
//Did you family not get family allowance or child benefit then VE?//
I never had children by my first wife, Bednobs, and I inherited a somewhat difficult family when I remarried. We both invested some capital (however defined) in helping them.
I don't believe in the Day of Judgment, but if I did I would have a few sins to answer for.
