My ex-work colleague moved to another city and we kept emailing each other after she left. In the end, it tapered off naturally of course seeing as we’re no longer working together. I sent her a Christmas card last year and, in the card, back to me, she wrote that she’d love to hear from me. Dutifully I replied, but I never heard back. Now, two weeks ago, she emailed out of the blue again saying how she’d love to hear from me and how time had suddenly passed by so quick. Again, I emailed her and again she hasn’t replied back. Am I wasting my time with her? What's the point of her contacting me when she doesn't reply?
she's not wasting a lot of time on you, and perhaps you should do likewise. She may have good reasons for taking her time, but if you don't like this, you don't have to keep up the correspondence.

Sounds genuine to me... maybe just ignore questions your not interested in instead of criticising posters who ask if non chatterbank areas and are not spamming. These things are important to some people...maybe your out of touch with the younger generation
16.42Bobb/ Don't think Treacle comes into the "younger generation" - once she said she was 51, another time she spoke of living in London in the 70s! Nearly all her posts since Feb. this year follow the same pattern!
