Do I Have A Right To Be Slightly Upset With My Boss?
9 Answers
I work for a commercial cleaning company. I was cleaning an internet provider building. They have a lot of expensive stuff inside. They have a vault, or safe. Whatever you call it. Like the ones you see In banks, and someone left it wide open, and it's always closed. I texted my boss, and my supervisor asking what I should do. Neither of them got back to me. Near the end of my shift, i desperately needed to know what to do, so I looked through our log book, and saw an after hours number for the company I was cleaning. I called that number, and the women told me that it should have been closed so just close it, so I did. I'm just kinda peeved that my boss, nor my supervisor didn't get back to me.

No - you have no right to be upset even slightly - next time use more common sense and telehone not text!

You should not be upset you did absolutely the right thing.
Perhaps you are not allowed to ring your boss out of office hours?
By sending a text you have written evidence that you tried to contact them and what the problem was. If you had phoned them and they had not answered the phone, then you would have had no story if the vault had been broken into or if something important had been taken.
And now ypu have written proof that your boss is useless and the company procedures don’t work.
