You can request a copy of the will from your local probate office, you need the date of death and address which you have and about 10, give them a ring they will help you.

If there is no will you may have left it too late due to the 6 year rule, but I would still consult a solicitor. Check for a will first, then decide what to do.
Sort of similar situation. My mum died after a long illness. Prior to her death, my married sister, her hubby and the kids would come over every Saturday, though to be honest I couldn't see why as all they did was let my mum wait on them hand and foot, ill though she was. Still I suppose she was glad they came...

Anyway, after she died, I saw my sister and her family just twice within the few weeks after, and there was a long period when they didn't call or anything. I tried to make an effort one Christmas, got them all prezzies and everything, but it was a dead loss. I gave up in the end - I no longer have a sister, and haven't now for just over ten years. I miss not having family now, but no way do I miss them.

Thankyou all three people that have given advice/views I have taken legal advice and it still hurts to know that over the years thing have not been black/white, it takes a death to bring out the nastyness, I have been silent for so long to think of are once close family greed being the factor, I live in rented accomadation, and only asked for the two items & denied, I know in my heart if mother could see this she would have been shocked at this outcome, we were brought up to respect help and get on. thanks again from a 56 year old angie
