When is the earliest you can take a pregnancy test?

I am only a few weekss late, which is out of the ordinary for me, but don't want to tempt anything. I have had problems conceiving for a while now and am not sure what to do? Any suggestions gratefully received x

from the day your period is due most tests will give a result. Some are early response but only have a 50% chance of correctly testing.

If you are a few weeks late a test should be pretty accurate if you follow the instructions correctly.
