I just wanted to remind people of how our government and society let this lovely little boy and his family down...His killers are free men, living normal lives with maybe there own families now, given jobs new identity's,money a home...Whilst us law abiding, honest hard working people of this great country get taxed even in Death...Who knows eh! they could be your new neighbours, maybe your daughters new boyfriend, maybe even your new boss....This is the injustice bestowed upon us...

Yep sunflower....I would say that kids of today are completely different to how i and many others were...Is because once again i blame the government, they have taken that many rights away from teachers,i mean as in 'Discipline methods' ,that kids can get away with whatever....to sum it up,,,how can you teach,if the student dosent even respect or fear you in any way???
It usually starts at home, by parents being good role models and setting boundaries and a good example. Physical discipline was never used in our house, and it's not in mine, but my children are well behaved and know right from wrong.
I don't think teachers have a good time of it these days, especially with unruly students, but they could help by using fun and interesting methods of teaching. As for poor little James's killers, I was told by a relative that one of them now lives in Australia - but I don't know if that's true or not.
i also heard that they live in australia as well, i was asked to sign an online petition a while ago to try and stop it all happening but i guess it didnt do any good
I thought we stopped sending our convicts over there years ago
It has often been asked, but what do you think should have happened to Jamie Bulgers killers?

Oh, and I received the online petition in my mailbox last week. Again.
I'm not a father but if that had happened to mine I would have found out where they were living.
You know a lot more than most people do, stevie.

There whereabouts and lifestyles are unknown to the public and any 'facts' are mere speculation.

One fact is that a single aberration from the straight and narrow will have either of them back inside - they are out on life licence, so will never live a free and normal life.

Whatever life they do have Ethel....is a million miles from the life they took, family they destroyed and empty injustice left for us contemplate to this day!!!! I am not religous but i hope there is a hell especially for them two and that that only then will they pay for the true horror of their actions !
Yes, and don't forget Mary Bell
but at least they will have a life, which is more than jamie bulger or his family will ever have again, now here is a case in point that does deserve the death penalty
gina, I hear what your saying but who could possibly as part of their job execute a child
That is what I was thinking, paulos.

As terrible as this crime was (as in the Mary Bell case) they were only young children themselves.

It's a tough one.
What those two boys was horrific, they knew what they were doing and it was sick.

But why concentrate on just those two? there are dangerous people out there that are not even known of, isnt it best to be wary and teach your children to be carefu around anyone, rather than be constantly on the lookout for two men that may not even be in this country anymore?
i think youd find that people would be willing to do it, and especially the parents of the murdered child, i agree there are a lot of evil people out there but the question is about jamie bulger
Would they be willing to do it now or back then when they were 11 years old?

That is the question...

Would it have been better to have kept them on a 'death row' basis and execute them after they had been rehabilitated?

As you can probably guess I am a bit 'iffy' about the death penalty anyway.

As Pierrepoint quite rightly said on his retirement:

''The death penalty never acheived anything but revenge''
Gina, the people willing to do it worry me nearly as much as those scum
The parents, I don't believe in a clinical environment they would actually get any satisfaction and could end up suffering even more

In India, a serial killer was caught,he had sexually assaulted and murdered many young girls...When the Judge passed the death sentence....he said that he would die by strangulation at a public gathering and that any member of the victims family if they choose can strangle him...a medic was on hand to revive him,so all of the victims family could exact their revenge....barbaric???? or law of the land??? I am parent to young children,,,i would not want the two killers of Jamie Bulger to be executed at such a young age,but to be executed at 18,so they could live and suffer as Jamies family do,in the knowledge that when they are 18,an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth...they will pay for their heinous sick crime!!!! And may i add,if my son who is 11 years old committed such a crime( which he would never,as he is brought up with integrity, knowledge, respect and love) i would pass the same judgement on him!!!
I'm always puzzled by why there is far more hatred for these two killers, who were very young when they committed their crime, than for the many adult killers who commit crimes just as barbaric. I suspect it's because it had much more coverage in the media, owing to the age of the murderers, than if the guilty parties had been adults. If they were kept in prison for life, what would be the point? It would cost the taxpayers a fortune and it's hardly likely that they will reoffend now, when police must know their whereabouts. The only purpose would be to satisfy people's lust for vengeance. Don't get me wrong, what they did was dreadful and I know if if had been my child killed I'd have wanted all the revenge I could get, but they have been punished, and that's it.
It was indeed a dreadful crime, stevie.

Your kids (and mine) have been brought up with that love, respect and all the other wonderful things a child is supposed to be brought up with.

However it was documented that the killers did not have such a wonderful upbringing. Sure, there are many kids brought up the same way as the killers who don't commit this type of crime...and in no way, shape or form am I condoning these boys actions.

However they were children at the time of the murder. How can you execute an 18 year odl for a crime they commited as a child? it doesn't make any sense at all..especially if they have been rehabilitated during their incarceration.

We have the law ~ sometimes it's an ass, but it is our law nonetheless. While we don't have the death penalty we cannot talk about murderers being executed..especially children.
