what things/smells remind you of family members?1 of my grand mothers lived with us when i was little & the smell of toast, onions & guinness remind me of her
I remember the smell of Velooty (don't know how it's spelt!) which my nan used to put on her skin. I haven't come across it on anyone else but I did catch a whiff of it when I first moved away to college. She died a couple of days after I left home and the following day I smelt it briefly in my new flat! Scary, but I guess she was telling me she knew where I was.
I like the smell of newly-cut grass, but it always reminds me of when I was little, and my father used to chase us round and throw handfuls of cuttings all over us!
Shandy reminds me of my great nan as do flowers on wires.
White chocolate mice remind me of my great aunt.
A sliver powder compact reminds me of my nan as do malted milk biscuits. I always remember her brown plastic biscuit barrel she always had.
When we stayed at hers, me and my brother would cuddle up in bed with her in the mornings and she'd make us lovely sweet milky tea and bring up the biscuit barrel, special times.
Albany aftershave - my father, and also the smell of wood shavings (wood working was his hobby)
Ma Griffe - my mother
Home baked bread - my grandmother
not family member but home cooked cakes remind me of old lady that use to live across rd from me .when i was young i use to visit her she use to give me cakes ,
