Off on hols in UK and the weather's looking poor. Four adults and two 17yr boys. Anyone know of any new games out there for us all to enjoy.

Done Trivia and Cranium, charades and guessing who you are with name stuck on forehead. We play cards inc. bridge (badly).

Wondered if anyone's come across a new game or revived an old one to keep us occupied in the rain:(
Thanx

We entertained 3 children of 7, 10 and 12 with endless boisterous games of cards - estimation whist was a favourite as was BS (we call it cheat - but they're from Seattle...). You can't beat a good card game.

Pictionary can be really funny....especially after a few drinks.
plus a very good aid to memory development! lol
poker?

Thanx sallabananas - yeah, we've done the whist (we call it nomination) and BS but the boys are more like adults now so I'm looking for good, (maybe betting) games using poker chips or matchsticks and maybe a tough quiz book/general knowledge - we need testing as lads are A level students and we need to keep our grey matter alert.

poker - is it easy to learn how to play. Can you play it in a light hearted way? or does it all get too serious?
easy to learn but there are various games so settle on one and don't play for actual cash, just use chips or matches

texas holdem is very popular right now

yeah, 17 yr olds, vibrasphere - lucky old us! Anything involving jumping around and not looking cool will not be entertained by these two. Desperately trying to avoid taking the PS3
Guessing band/singers names from clues e.g. Gender Guns=Sex Pistols, Girl Area=Boyzone, Scot Elbow Javelins=Britney Spears
Hate to put a dampner on your plans, but any games you come up with is going to be torture for the two 17 year olds.

Better think of ways to entertain you and the hubby (steady!) and leave the two 17 year olds to entertain themselves, they won't thank you if you try to games that are really 'uncool'.
Get a dart board.
My daughter and her friends love playing Articulate - they are 18. Changes every time they play it and always loads of laughs. Good for all adults too.
We found a game in the Entertainer called Smart Ass. It has categories of Who/What/Where. Each card has the answer and ten clues, which you read in order and it gets easier to guess the further you go, but each person only gets one guess so its better to guess early on if possible. It has a board and dice as well. We've found it very entertaining of an evening with a bottle of wine and I think it would appeal to the teenagers too (our neighbours are at uni and love it too)
Taking 2 17 year olds on holiday??

When mine were 17 or even 16 they didn't want to go on holiday with their Mum & Dad,tht was completely frowned upon, too embarrassing by far. The apron strings were completely severed by then.
