finally spoke to tax credits as they were closed until today and i didnt receive my payment this week- apparently they received communication saying that i DIED on 30th September! very unimpressed and shaken by this.... i find it more amazing though that they can just write someone off without a death certificate, and not even send a letter to my partner stating that he will need to reapply as an individual!

I did have some sympathy - until I read that.
Beverley, it isn't "your page", it is a public forum and we all have a right to post a comment or opinion on your thread.
so how does the criteria go for tax credits then, maybe she should do what a lot of people do, give up her job, and her self asteem and just scrounge? yes what a good idea.
How am I being immature? You're talking about suing HMRC. The people that give you money to tide you over. They 'give' you money for nothing. There was a time when you got what you earned and that was it.
Gina...now that is silly.

I wrote a question and you all answered it didnt you? therefore you are commenting on a page thats been assigned to me to ask the question! sympathy or no sympathy its disgusting what they have done- and i was only stating the truth about ummm... every post i read is full of sarcasm and it is obviously written by someone who is very bored!
Oh dont they just chuck! I've heard so many DP excuses
whats silly about it, many many people do it cos they cant be bothered to work, and think thats all its for and some do work, do you have children ummmm
Threatening to sue because they missed a payment is rather silly....I don't just give sarcastic answers...and yes I am a tad bored.
I don't think that's quiet what Ummmm is suggesting Gina. I believe what she is getting at is that it was a rather unfortunate event but get over it. And I tend to agree.

You would never succesfully sue HMRC for this anyway.

and no ummm... i didnt earn that money.... i am ENTITLED to it.... more so than a lot of people in this country
Yes I have 3 children. I've been rich, I've been poor....Always remained grateful though.
As it was their mistake I suppose they might cover your bank charges?
beverley,
you can only perhaps ask for them to reimburse you for the costs that it may have caused, ie with bank charges.
theres nothing to sue them for, as such, they took to be true a correspondance from someone who said that you had died, who can you blame for it?

yes, by all means you can be upset to be told that someone has been saying youre dead, but you're not, so try and smile :)
It is not disgusting, it is probably just a clerical error. They have now sorted it out and you are receiving your money again. You will just have to pay the bank charges you have accrued because of this error, or you may be able to get your bank to not charge you if you approach them in a calm manner and explain the situation to them.
You are entitled to it because you are lucky enough to live in a country that does not want it's people living in poverty. Be grateful...
bored ummm, so dont read anymore, simple, and i assume youve never had any children and never claimed unemployment and never had any family allowance?
Question Author
thanks for the constructive comment red- i was implying to ummm that it was a suggestion from my friend... of course i wouldn't - i would however ask for reimbursement for the bank charges and for the calls i have made to them today.
Question Author

Question Author
