Stella Artois Cidre

A few days ago I tried a bottle of this stuff just to see what it tasted like. Also local Coop had it on offer for £1.50(it's in a pint bottle). It was a very pleasant drink although I don't think I could drink much of it as it was just a little sweet for my taste. Any else tried it?

yeah, i tried it a while ago now. recall that I quite liked it compared to strongbow, but think it would be a bit sweet to have a night out on. personally I really like thatchers "katy".

Why is it spelt that way scotman? I've seen the billboards advertising it. I don't like a sweet cider so thanks for taste testing it!

As real Devonian rough Cider drinker, I wouldnt let the stuff past my lips, a dreadfull thought!!

My Cider comes straight off the farm at 50 pence a pint, absolute nectar!! :-)

wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, i only drink Thatchers, either Katy, Green Goblin or Cheddar Valley, and its all made only about 10 miles from where I live. :-)

One of my locals, The Mesmerist, has several Thatcher's ciders on sraught.

They have that Cheddar Valley. I've always been a bit put off by the name (bit "cheesey"?).

I haven't tried the Stella stuff.

I haven't tried this, and don't think I'd want to either. The name "Stella" is enough to put me off.
I rarely drink cider, but if I do, it's got to be Thatchers Gold. Like Webbo, it's made just down the road from me! :-)

One of them ("Gold"?) is about normal strength, like a lager.

One of them is 7 point something.

I sometimes fancy a cider on a hot lunch time, but I don't want to have to be taken home in a wheelbarrow.

No its not the strongest, Thatchers Vintage and Katy are 7.4% Cheddar Valley is 6%, so a pint or 3 and you will be ok. :-)

Bottled coders tend to be very mainstream here. I don't think I have ever seen Thatchers.
If I fancy a bottle of an evening I usually go for Henry Weston's. Local Coop has it at £1.50 for 500ml and it is 8.2%.
