Thinking about buying a coffee machine for Christmas. Prepared to pay up to £200 but not sure if it is worth it. Do not want one that takes pods as I would like to be able to decide what strength to make it.
Can anyone make any recommendations?

If you can manage to stretch the budget and shop around, go for a bean to cup. I have a deLonghi, but it was a present.
The Gaggia Carezza DeLuxe has been getting good reviews. It is priced at £219.95 but I'm sure you could find a better deal.
You can adjust the strength with Nespresso (pod) machines. The time for both espresso and lingo can be set at whatever suits you on the automatic ones.
Some machines, though, are manually operated.
Oops - LUNGO.
