Grendel's Winter Ale @ 5.8% from the Beowulf Brewery, Staffs.
Very Dark, monstrously robust and full-bodied. It is dry hopped and bursting with flavour.
A great Beer to drink sitting by a Log Fire on a cold Winters day.
Available last Sat from 'The Post Office Vaults', Birmingham.
Rowan and I regard it as one of our favourites.
Also recommended...
Sheriff IPA @ 5.5% from Lincoln Green Brewery, Notts.
A true India Pale Ale, using only UK hops and with a strong bitterness and citrus/ orange aroma.
Black Knight @ 5.3% from Goffs Brewery, Winchcombe
A very dark ruby red tinted beer with chocolate malt aromas and a hint of vanilla. Very smooth, very rich dry malt flavours with a subtle hoppiness. A classic winter porter.

In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.
Happy drinking, folks !! :-))

Thanks for the Tip tony, Rowan and I are looking out for Waxwings at present and keeping our eyes peeled..
Good luck.
If you fancy it ( chasewater ) just let me know and I will fill you in train / bus.
I also want to put in a note GreenJack's Ripper tripel at 8.5% and Flying Dog brewery Doggie Style (5.5%) luckily I could order that one by pointing at the beer menu in the PO Vaults.

Slaters Columbia Coffee stout (4.6%) was rather nice too quite smooth with the bitterness seeming to come from the espresso they apparentyly bung in it
Question Author
Thanks for that Ed !
It will give others a chance to post their own favourites if they have any
