Does wine have a shelf life? Can i drink a bottle of unopened �4.00 Red Wine I bought from tescos 2 years ago?

Some wines do have a shelf life. Look on the label. It might say it's best to drink it withing a certain time from the date of purchase - six months, two years, etc. (So how long has it been on the shop shelf!??).
Your Tesco red should be OK, but I'd try it now. At �4.00, it's not going to be of a quality that could be laid down for 100 years!
Open it, decant it, smell it, taste it. If it smells OK & tastes OK then drink it. Cheers!

I would merely say, if you don't like the taste of it, it should be alright for cooking purposes.
