What wine do I serve with gammon? Light red or heavy, oaky white?

I have one in the fridge in the garage (left over from Christmas - it is good with turkey), I will get it out.

Wine went wonderfully with the gammon. Hope you enjoyed your chilli with the rioja. Havinf lived in Spain for many years I am partial to a Rioja myself!

Glad all went well. We had gammon today as well. I did the Nigella thing and did it in 2 litres of full fat Coke. Gave it a lovely sweet coating.
