Oh, gag! I remember my gran swaddled up in her winter woolies, in her wheelchair supping it at the local pub. Mixed with lemonade makes it a 'snowball'. I've never been able to face it since then!

mmm right , well i;ll have to try it once,!
Babycham or lemonade. Horrible stuff on it's own but just about palatable with either of the above.
It is sickly sweet. Very popular in the 60's with old ladies!!!!

lemondade! Love it, its a bit like icecream soda :)

havnt had it in years but if you like your drinks sweet then try it
God that brings back visions of the first MIL :-(
I like it...It was the only drink I was allowed to have as a child on NYE...with lemo.
same here, ummm. NYE and xmas lol
Me too ummmm. I was always allowed an advocaat and lemonade and I really loved it as a child. Can't stand sweet drinks now though. And the thought of the egg in it makes me feel sick!!
Give absinthe a go instead (see Wiki for history, bans and madness)! Much more interesting than advocaat!
My Grandad did sometimes let me have a sip of his whiskey and american...I used to sneak swigs of baileys...and eat all the cherries that were meant for the cocktails. Cocktails...haha...it wasn't that kind of pub.

oh thanks wheaten, i was looking for a pre night out drink before the club, if i start with absinthe, i might not make it as far as the door...
NYE for me too, my nan used to look after us and we were allowed an Advocaat & lemonade with glace cherries.
Can't abide sweet drinks now though.
eeewww, glace cherries :( I used to nick all the plastic swords from my grandads drinks cabinet lol
Question Author
Thnaks for that lofty, i shall try and let you know how it goes down.
Lol...that's what they're called. And we had the swords. I think in all my life I never served a cocktail or seen one being served.
Nasty stuff...made out of Dutch lawyers.
Mix it with half a glass of lemonade and a dash of lime juice. You can add a tot of gin in it too.
