I'm not talking about the obvious instances when grated cheese is required, like a recipe of a pizza.
Do you just grate cheese to make it go further?
It does wind me up a little when people grate cheese to put in a sandwich!
or to go with a salad.
I know sometimes people will grate cheese to make it go further, don't do it, just put less cheese in or buy more cheese, don't be so tight with the cheese!
I like thick cut cheese in a sandwich or a big! big! chunk of cheese with a salad.
I like my cheese so I can get my teeth into it.
and as for the pre-made sandwiches the sell in the garage, grated cheese with mayo!!! Why do the have to put mayo in every bloody sandwich they make grrrrrr!!
That pre-grated cheese has stuff added to it to keep it from sticking...it may be potato flour....;-)
I sometimes prefer grated cheese in a sarnie-a 'lump' would be too overpowering, particularly as I hate insipid cheese. I love vintage cheddar-something with a '6' rating.
My favourite cheese sarnies: Cheese by itself, Cheese and onion, cheese and beetroot, cheese and tomato or go the whole hog= cheese (thick & strong) with lettuce, spring onion, beetroot, piccalilli, onion tomatoes, coleslaw, maybe some cold meat if available.
P.P correct it does. I love mayo, I didn't say I don't like it, I just like the option of sandwiches without Mayo. Garages appear to have Mayo in every single sandwich.
I think if you took the bread and butter out of a bread and butter sandwich from a garage, you would still be left with a handful of Mayo!
