English (mostly Argentinian in tins ) fatty, stodgy but wonderful comfort food. Slice of buttered toast, layer of branston pickle, then the corned beef, topped with sliced tomato and grilled. If starving put cheese between the toast and pickle.
American, thin slices of cured beef,(low fat) superb with dill pickle.Delicatessan food. Sometimes available in supermarkets. Do try it.
Tinned stuff wonderful in hash, especially when combined with beetroot.
here in the states, usually the store brand sliced very thin is great......sometimes you can find hebrew national kosher corn beef brisket in a deli that will slice for you....for me, it is tough to call the stuff in a can corned beef LOL
