I love sausages, but can't stop thinking about the cr*p that most of them contain. Can anyone recommend any decent sausages that don't contain bone, anus, eyeball etc ?

The better sausages you buy, the less likely you are to have dross contents. Tesco Finest take a lot of beating. Or butchers own, if you have a good local butcher.
have you tried venison sausages ?
Look at the list of Ingredients at back of Pack, anything less than about 80% Pork or Beef and I do not buy them ! The 'Value' Packs contain all sorts of garbage ! ;-))
There's a fabulous butchers in Nantwich that do the most wonderful sausages.. all sorts of tasty mixes.. not been there since we left.. but I would definitely have a day trip over there to stock up.. humm.. maybe catch up with Jude and visit that adorable garden centre whilst I'm there... now there's a plan....!
Hi Arti, have you ever thought of making your own? http://www.sausagemaking.co.uk/
M&S do 97% pork sausages-no wheat or fillers-just seasoning added. Debbie & Andrew's of Harrogate are good also-in many supermarkets.

Great (and some funny, lol) answers, everyone. Thanks for all your posts :)
thanks pasta, i had no idea that M&S did GF sausages. The main issue I have with so called posh sausages is that they tend to be too dry and chewy. Preferring the fattyness of cheaper sausages because of this. Are the M&S ones smooth or do they have obvious bits of meat in them?

Thanks
I go with Boxtops. Find a butcher that makes their own sausages. You get what you pay for.

tesco finest. Mmm they do ones with tomato in that are scrummy
We love sausages but my daughter is gluten sensitive - we found the Black Farmer sausages were brilliant everyone likes them -no idea if they contain pig anus but if they do its very tasty !
Hi bimbo....the M&S ones are definitely meaty-without horrid fatty bits. They are a "Which" magazine 'best buy'. The Debbie & Andrew's are a bit spicier-but also very meaty.
