I love chowder.

I've run out of table water biscuits, so I've broken a few Bath Olivers into it.

jayne, i just love chowder. there's a little place in rose street in edinburgh (or used to be, haven't been for a few years) which does the best chowder i've ever tasted. i'd go straight for the crusty bread.

I have to admit, ethandron ... this is not the best chowder in the world.

It's a tin of Waitrose Seafood Chowder.

But it's okay.
I love chowder too, both corn and seafood!
With plenty of crusty bread too.
tinned is good too, depending on the make...
Question Author
Crusty bread would've been nice.
nothing wrong with bath olivers though, think positive :)

Bath Olivers are good with cheese.

So is crusty bread.
funnily enough, i have some crusty bread warming and crusting in the oven right this minute. i'll think of you when i eat my chilli and dip it in later.
try it with soft golden cornbread mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Best chowder ever: The National Hotel, Jamestown CA. Came as a 'side' after starter, with salad and before main meal, wherever we ate after that we had one meal between two! Came back weighing more than my suitcase (after I'd bought more clothes and shoes!)
Maybe they'll send me the recipe if I ask nicely, must try and make it myself. Just buy it in tins now, I'm afraid. Anyone recommend a good recipe? Will check some sites. Thank you.
Wheaten.
This one is lovely, wheaten: http://www.bbcgoodfoo...and-sweetcorn-chowder
So quick! Don't forget to season, as I don't think it's mentioned in the recipe. :)
Ooh that looks lovely whiskey, thank you, I think I will try that.
hmmmm, I want some clam chowder now!
I had it (lots of it) last night with lovely, warm bread, marval. :)
