Tonight we are having a few people round so I'm doing Chicken tikka, and some onion bhajis to start, served with a lemony mint and yoghurt sauce, and salad garnish, then a lamb bhuna, a beef Madras, and a chicken and prawn dopiaza, dhal, bombay potatoes, pilau rice, naan breads, chutney/pickles and poppadums. Lassi/sherbet or Indian lager to drink. Tropical fruit salad and mango kulfi for pud.
No Safiya, I don't shoplift, I grow vegetables, herbs and some fruit, my parents/brothers farm provides my meat, poultry, dairy, other veg and flour. I bake all my own bread, rolls, cakes, buns, pies etc. I make my own pasta, I buy things like rices, sugars, salts, vinegars, specialist flours and oils in bulk. I buy spices, friut and stuff week to week as I need them, and my other brother provides fish and seafood for me.
My favourite is whatever is in front of me at the time. I can never remember which is which so each time it is a lucky dip type of situation with the menu. But if it's a good restaurant, one tends not to get disappointed. Well apart from the number of calories, and realising half way through you've ordered too much.
Best fish curry i had was in Barbados, king fish, which is a bit like eating chicken fillet, it started off very tasty - then kinda blew the top of your head off - but it was tempered with coconut rice and fresh pineapple salad dish which was delicious with it
My brother provides fish and seafood for several restaurants and hotels in Birmingham Cazz - he's up this way anyway, gets fed, and I make him stuff for his freezer in return - he also gets the odd PS game or proto type to comment on courtesy of hubby...
