Tonight we are having a few people round so I'm doing Chicken tikka, and some onion bhajis to start, served with a lemony mint and yoghurt sauce, and salad garnish, then a lamb bhuna, a beef Madras, and a chicken and prawn dopiaza, dhal, bombay potatoes, pilau rice, naan breads, chutney/pickles and poppadums. Lassi/sherbet or Indian lager to drink. Tropical fruit salad and mango kulfi for pud.

Just read through this thread...and I wonder what mercia would cook if she DID have to buy all her meat, poultry and fish.

Like the rest of us do.... ;-)

I have compensation money from my accident pasta, I'd cook exactly the same.

Sichuan for me by far........not a great fan of Thai curries, and a lot of Indian food I find homogenous in taste - when it is done well it is good - my fav Indian is the Tamarind, near the Saudi Embassy, back of Bond Street, in London, a Moghul based cooking style from the NW...... Their Awadhi Murgh is brilliant as is their Tandoori
What a coincidence I made a beef jalfrezi tonight.
With basmati rice and peshwari nans.

I put about six chillies in and boy was it hot!!! And delish!
Well I smell something... and I'm pretty sure it aint Bhuna, Madras, Dopiaza, Bombay Potatoes etc. etc...
Armpits?
Bullsh!t?
Could be :-)

Chicken bhuna is my favourite with peshwari naan and pilau rice. I do like the little sauces with the popadoms, and raita. With Kulfi and ice.
Lemon

So not like the rest of us,then....
Yes pasta!...........I agree with your post!.........ok,so mercia has her compensation money!.............who cares!.......so she can afford to cook lots of expensive dishes!............again, who cares!........we can all cook a cecent curry, money or no money!................not so hard to do!..............mercia should get off that high horse!...........
An over-reaction, methinks.

I can't see a "high-horse" for Mercia to get off. And even if she's fibbing (which some appear to insinuate on this thread)......so what? Is she the first on AB to tell porkies? I think not. I can think of several who have been caught out.
Mrs C, mercia has no need to be so high handed!........I hate this kind of thing, sorry, but it just really annoys me!..........
