It is pronounced "jew" but you have to purse your lips as though sucking a lemon when you say it. Having said that the j should be pronounced like the s in pleasure.

I love mash. Either on it's own with just a knob of butter, or with other things stirred in. Comfort food. Yum.

I'd rather have mash anytime than chips.

I had lemon & parsley mash on hol last week - thought it sounded weird, but it was delicious. I love horseradish mash, or mixed dijon & wholegrain mustard.
