Goosegogging

Maybe it's just Lincolnshire, or maybe my unobservance - but why don't we seem to have many gooseberries around any more? When we were early teenagers (ok, maybe about 35 years ago...) we used to go 'goosegogging' - being pricked half to death by all the thorns, but gooseberries were plentiful so it seemed.

Mmmm Goosegog crumble. Mike I used to get the little corners from paper bags full of sugar to dip the rhubarb in too. I'm suprised I've got any teeth left! There's a pick-your-own fruit place on Anglesey where we can pick goosegogs, and the most MARVELLOUS tayberries.

I have a very good crop of tayberries at the moment. Correction - the blackbirds have a good crop of tayberries.

It's not so much feeling brave, it's more a case of distance and I'm pretty fast :)

Was never a great fan of gooseberries, too tart. Used to have a bush of them at my parents' place. And also at my first place too. Mostly left for the wildlife though.
