I came across a couple of packets of tobacco the other day at the back of the wardrobe but they're a bit dry. Is there a way of rejuvinating them with a little moisture?

A couple of slices of apple in a tin moistens it
I think sailors used to put a few drops of rum in it.
Slices off apple will help but it will never be quite the same.
Vegetable steamer?
A couple of potato peelings,in the tin, should do the trick.
What make of tobacco is it ?

Thanks fellas. I think Jayne's suggestion may be a bit ott. Don't fancy smoking hot tobacco, but thanks anyway. Does the manufacturer make any difference?

Thanks fellas (and fellorette). I think Jayne's suggestion may be a bit excessive - don't wanna smoke hot baccy, but thanks anyway. Dunno what difference the manufacturer makes, but it's GV.
What about mixing it with the same quantity of new stuff? Dry Golden Virginia is very acrid.
The approved method is to loosen and spread out the tobacco in a bowl. Place a clean cloth dampened with distilled water over the bowl. (A bit pedantic. Actually, tap water should be fine). Mix up the tobacco now and then. Re-humidifying like this can take between 15 minutes and several hours.
