i was reading the thread down there and someone mentioned fish pie. now i love a good fish pie with smoked haddock big fat prawns and a creamy cheesey pot topping

but i love cherry pie and steak n ale, oh and chick/aspargus

so what's yours?

Cold: Pork and pickle, veal and ham

Hot Game Pie (no rabbit)

Steak and ale/steak and onion or a chicken, smoked ham and leek.
Luxury fish pie with cod, smoked haddock, big juicy prawns and crab or lobster claw meat.

A nice bramley apple or a cherry pie for pud.

i donlt think pickle has any place in a pie, on the side yes but not in it

i have tried it, its was bloody 'orrible but then i'm fussy about pickle

and chuck i saw the banoffee pie thing, don't think it escaped me
but what pickle was your pickle? If it was something like Branston, then okay I'm inclinded to agree - but a lean minced pork pie with my spicy apple and green tomato pickle is, |I've been told, very nice.
I only eat pie fillings....

its was mutton pie with an indian pickle my mother made, traditional family receipe

but you can't beat a Melton Mowbray pork pie with beetroot pickle or spiced apricot chutney washed down with a nice glass of wine.

jelly in pork pies is wrong

so BM do you are pie and pickle together is wrong but pie and pickle on the side is correct
I'd never heard of that Trim. Sounds delicious (just googled it).

Damn, this thread has reminded me I forgot to take the blummin mince out of the freezer for the lasagne tonight. May be having something else...........

The chicken and veg pies in the Cornish Pasty Shop are lush.
No - pie with pickle separate for me. Not IN the pie, WITH the pie.

or for pastry it would be mincepies, I make a large one sometimes and cut it up
