It's a known thing cecil39, in fact it was outlawed by the UN in 1964 as a chemical weapon.
My own dear wife makes a soup with butternut squash, garlic, chilis and tomatoes. It is currently before the committee.
Enjoy! :)
My gran used to make mash using carrots and swede - it was called potch!
Oooh it's not new here, I have it quite a lot instead of mashed potato. It's delish. You can add carrot too which is lovely.
nagging my brother (who is a farmer) to grow a decent tasting swede. They used to be mustardy-hot and flavourful - I used one the other day when I was making traditional Cornish Pasties and it tasted of nothing! don't like squash or sweet potatoes I'm afraid, they're far more popular than 10 years ago - but not for me!
al varieties of mash tried and tested in our house. current favourite for kiddywinks is carrot and swede, but they also love butternut squash and swede. luvvly jubbly.
