People tell of a magical land between the Rivers Wear and Tweed, where dwell strange folk with supernatural powers. It is said in some of the ancient chronicles that these people, even in the bleakest mid-winter, need no outer garment other than the T-shirt, and that the female of the species is wondrously well-endowed with flesh. I believe it may be called Narnia, as the only known route is via a wardrobe.

Panackelty is a roasted food dish consisting of meat (mainly corned beef) and root vegetables (mainly potatoes and onions) left to bake throughout the day in an oven pot on low heat. i didn't know it had a proper name, we've always just called it corned beef hotpot. it's one of my favourite meals, so easy and tasty, you can just shove it in the oven and forget about it. my mum always added a chinese flavour oxo cube but i just like it with salt and pepper.

Factual evidence is hard to find, but one of the chronicles does recount the tale of a hardy Scotsman, who, one night having imbibed overmuch of the juice of the barley, inadvertently crossed the River Tweed, whereupon he fell into the company of a rather friendly pig.
