Bit of a problem there - grill and oven knackered (we rent, could tell landlord but he is a fusspot so we are going to replace it ourselves - but spent the cooker money when we were on holidays (bit daft, but the kids had a good time!!!)).
medium heat, decent bottom to the frying-pan, make sure fat has melted and is sizzling. Keep turning the brutes, I overdo minie by cooking for 30 minutes.
Sounds awful, but it's one of those 'family' names to interest children:)
Boil Rice,
in a separate pan gently fry thinly sliced onions in marg/butter, add tomato puree, (about half a tube for 2 -3 peeps) cook it out. Serve as a sauce over the fried sausages on the bed of rice.
i cook them in the oven, so no mess and frying pan spitting everywhere. i place them in a tin on scrunched up foil so they are not sitting in their own fat and come out too greasy.
Why not try toad-in-the-hole? My lads love that served with baked beans. Put the sausages in a hot oven for ten minutes so the fat comes out whilst you make yorkshire pudding batter. Pour in the batter and cook for about 40 mins.
As others have suggested grilling is the best but if you have to fry I would start with a little oil in pan and take it gently to start. Try to avoid them sticking. Are you cooking supermarket or butcher sausages?
Hi Sherrard, I don't think I've ever fried a sausage. I always do mine in the oven. When my dad had his cafe he used to cook a bulk load in the oven for about 20 mins then put them in a massive tub ready to deep fry when required.
Hi Tigger - long time, no see. Hope you and baby Tigger are keeping well. If you read up at the top you will see that I am currently without either an oven or a grill!!!
