You hear differing views on how to cook a steak Some people say don't oil the pan, some say don't season before, others will season before cooking, should the steak be at room temp or out of the fridge?
So what is the best process to use to ensure the best steak? Thanks.
I stick it in about 200...but only for a few minutes. For some reason it seems to make a difference (watching TV chefs do it) then put on a warm (warm, not hot) plate and cover with tin foil and leave to rest for at least 5 minutes.
You're right Ummm; it was my subtle way of acknowledging the similar methods and not saying What The Funicular to the ones I thought were somewhat left of field ;-)
At the end of the day though if the cook and family sit down and enjoy their dinner it's not for anyone else to judge. I know how I want mine done/not done though!
